Helping South Africans Enjoy Snow and Ski Holidays in Georgia

Hello lovely travellers (and future snow-seekers!)

The other day, my nearly four-year-old daughter asked me quite seriously: “Mom, what do you do for a living?” I paused for a moment. She knows about police officers, firefighters, doctors, and so I had to keep it simple. So I said: “Ek help mense om lekker vakansie te hou.” Her face lit up. She repeated it. And in that moment I realised – yes: that is my job description.

For me, as an agent of Adventure Georgia, that phrase captures everything I believe in: making holidays fun, worry-free, and full of delight.

Why we started

We fell in love with Georgia – the snow-capped mountains, the crisp air, the sense of discovery. And as South Africans ourselves, we knew: there are people back home who’ve never seen snow, never skied, never felt the thrill of a winter holiday. So we founded Adventure Georgia with one clear goal: to make ski holidays in Georgia affordable and exceptional for our South African clients.

It’s not just about arranging flights and hotels. It’s about being your on-ground support, your guide, your local friend so that your holiday becomes a wonderful memory.

What we do for you

When you travel with Adventure Georgia:

• You’re met at arrival and your transfers are handled – no fumbling through which taxi to pick.

• You have direct contact with a member of the adventure georgia team, who’s living locally and understands how things work here. We are your go-to. Your real-time support!

• Activities, ski gear, ski lessons, snow fun – we organise the pieces so you can relax and soak it in.

• Because you’re not just a booking number – you’re our guest, our partner in a holiday-adventure, and we want you to walk away saying, “Yes … that was effortless, that was amazing.”

A little family moment

That moment with my daughter – asking me what I do – reinforced the heart of what I do every day. She’s three and a half, already excited about snow, and when I told her that I help people have fun holidays (in Afrikaans!), she got so excited for this season to start.  Because Bakuriani is packed with fun winter activities – skiing, snowmobiles, horse riding, sledding, and more – but it’s also about the cozy moments that come after. Think cozy fireplaces, a warm drink like coffee, hot chocolate or mulled wine, and delicious dinners at local restaurants where you can warm up with some Georgian dishes and music. You can take a look at my Bakuriani Map Blog to get a feel for how the town works and where all the magic happens.

Why Georgia … Why Snow … Why Now

For many South Africans, a snow holiday is a “must-do at least once.” You feel the crunch of fresh snow under your boots, you glide on skis (or even just try for the first time), you sip hot chocolate beside a cozy fire, and you laugh with family or friends as snowflakes fall around you – or enjoy a meal at one of Bakuriani’s many charming restaurants. Some have fireplaces, some feature live music, and others offer beautiful mountain views – each with its own special atmosphere.

It’s different. It’s alive. And in places like Bakuriani, we get to experience it in a way that’s less crowded, more affordable, and full of charm.

Imagine: a cozy village, snow-covered pines, people laughing on sleds, ski slopes within reach – and you, able to relax and enjoy because someone (that’s us!) is looking after the details.
